Final Care Services

The word meaning of the word “euthanasia” literally translates to “the good death.” We know how important your pet is to your family, and it is never easy to face tough end-of-life decisions for them. At HVS, we do our very best to help you cope and select the best option for your loved one, and to make this process a little less painful. While we do offer at-home euthanasia services, we also have a special area in our office to ensure the maximum amount of comfort for you and your pet during such a difficult time.

What TO EXPECT

At our office, euthanasia services are provided in a quiet, private room with a private exit. We want you to be able to spend as much time with your pet in their final moments as you need, so there is no rush to leave. Pet owners are given the choice to remain present during this process. We offer the choice of an at-home burial, in which the pet owner may take their loved one back home to be laid to rest in a familiar environment, as well as the option to choose private or group cremation through Pet Angel. If a pet owner chooses private cremation, they will be able to choose from a wide variety of pet memorial products to keep with them so as to always remember their beloved member of their family.

At-Home Euthanasia Services

The process for our at-home euthanasia service is much like our in-office services, just in the comfort of your own home. This process will still include a full consultation on your pets quality of life, and what your concerns as the owner may be. Mild sedation will be given first to ensure that your pet is relieved of any pain or discomfort they may be experiencing. We believe you deserve one last memory of your pet comfortable and at ease, though any procedures will be done at the pace you dictate. Pet memorial products will still be provided, and we can even do a clay paw impression at the time of service. Although we would be performing the euthanasia at-home, private cremation services would still be available, and we would provide transportation of your pet if elected.
