What to Expect

At Heartland Veterinary Services, we strive to provide you with the best quality healthcare for your pets from their first steps into our office. We have a state of the art facility that is clean, comfortable, and accomodating to both you and your pets. We also have a team of highly qualified staff members who are willing to go above and beyond to ensure you have a beyond-satisfactory experience with us.

You should bring your pets in once a year for their annual check up. This will include a physical exam, as well as consultations and whatever treatment is necessary at the time of the examination. Dr. Keffer will check your pet head to tail to ensure their overall health is on the right track.

If this is your first time at our clinic, please bring a copy of your pet’s previous veterinary care records. If you are unable to obtain these records, please give us a call to let us know, and we can call their previous veterinarian and have them sent to us. Other documentation such our new client registration form is required at your first visit. While you may fill this out when you arrive to your appointment, we also have a downloadable file that you may print, fill out, and bring to us!

Appointment Policy

At this time, we operate primarily by appointment to allow plenty of time for each client and their pet.

We understand that you may have a busy schedule. Because of this, we also offer drop-off appointments. If you would like to request a drop-off appointment for your pet, please specify in your online message or give us a call to speak with a client service representative. Dr. Keffer will examine your pet in-between scheduled appointments and will give you a call after their appointment is finished to discuss diagnosis and treatment options. You can schedule a pick-up time with the client service representative. When you come to pick up your pet, an HVS staff member will be able to go over discharge instructions with you.

We request as much in advance notice as possible when cancelling or rescheduling your appointment. Please try to call us at least 24-hours prior to your appointment to cancel or reschedule if possible.

Leash and carrier Policy

For the safety of all pets and their owners, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area. All cats must be in a carrier or on a leash as well. If you do not have these accommodations, please come into the office prior to bringing your pet in and we can provide you with a leash and/or a carrier.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convince, we accept cash, personal check, credit/debit, and CareCredit.
